Vincent A. Virgulti, 80, a lifelong resident of Bristol Borough passed away peacefully April 20, 2023, after a lengthy illness.
He was a graduate of Bishop Egan High School, later receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree from LaSalle University to be followed by a Master’s Degree in Education
from Penn State University. As a professor for Penn State University he taught both Italian and Spanish. Summers were spent travelling with and mentoring his students in language proficiency. His students enjoyed his wry sense of humor and appreciated his dedication to each of them and their success was a very important part of his legacy. Travelling throughout Europe was one of his great passions and among his attributes was the love of speaking many languages, being proficient in Italian, Spanish, French and Latin. Vince also had a great appreciation of fine foods especially his mother’s Italian home cooking.
The youngest of five male children, he was predeceased in death by his brothers Gabriel, Robert and Joseph and his parents, Nazzareno and Anna. Survivors include a brother, George (Rita), many nieces and nephews and his lifelong loving friend, Karen Brody.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol, PA 19007 on Wednesday May 3, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a funeral mass to follow. Interment will be held at St. Mark Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to Penn State Alumni Association, PO Box 1031, Blue Bell, PA 19422, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
