Thomas Aquinas Reitemeyer Sr., of Falls Township, PA, formerly of Manville, NJ, passed away on November 3, 2026, in his 86th year, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his three loving children, William, Thomas, and Margaret; his daughter-in-law, Michelle; seven grandchildren, Frederick, William Jr., Kathleen, Johanna, Peter, Mary, and George; and five great-grandchildren.
Tom graduated from Our Lady Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington, NJ, in 1957 and St. Peter's College in 1961. He served as a captain in the United States Army before beginning his career as a certified public accountant. His career included many years with the New Jersey Department of Higher Education and the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General. He also provided accounting services to many Catholic churches throughout New Jersey.
Known by the nickname "Slash" from his days as a sabre fencer, Tom was an avid train and model railroading enthusiast, strategic wargame player, devoted news follower, history buff, and connoisseur of classical music. He enjoyed tending his rose garden and dining with friends. A lifelong learner, he continued studying Latin throughout his battle with cancer.
Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Falls Township Rifle and Pistol Association, and YPLAS, as well as a founding member of the Slash and Sip Society. He also served as treasurer on the Board of Trustees for the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey.
He will be deeply missed for his wit, knowledge, and especially his stories. Throughout his brief battle with cancer, he faced each day with determination, prayer, dignity, and, of course, a story. He passed peacefully after reciting the rosary.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday November 11, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday November 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 201 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville, PA 19067. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Trenton, NJ 08610.
Flowers may be sent directly to the funeral home. Memorial donations in Tom's honor may be made to the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey at www.conservewildlifenj.org.
