Steven Peter "Pete" Hicks, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on October 16th, 2023, surrounded by his family. Pete, as he was affectionately known, touched the lives of many with his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. He was 71 years old.
Pete was born on August 27th, 1952, to his loving parents, Ted, and Dot Hicks, who welcomed him into the world with boundless joy. He grew up alongside his siblings, Michael Case, Robin Keys, Teri Augustine, and Douglas Bradley Hicks, forming the foundation of a close-knit and loving family.
Pete was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Lois Hicks, and together, they shared a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their enduring love served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Pete was a proud and loving father to his children: Gregory Hicks, Sean (Kate) Hicks, Carol (Bill) Kuchefski, Joseph (Andrea) Audsley. He treasured his role as a father, imparting wisdom, guidance, and endless love to each of his children, instilling in them the values of family, kindness, and perseverance.
Though Pete's life was filled with joy and laughter, it was not without its share of sorrow. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Bloom, whose memory he held close to his heart.
Pete retired from a long and distinguished career at US Steel and Bristol Pike Lanes. His commitment to his work reflected his dedication and strong work ethic, and he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends.
Pete will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his unwavering love for his family, and his genuine and infectious smile. He had a zest for life and cherished every moment he spent with his loved ones. His favorite pastimes included passionately supporting Philadelphia sports teams, creating lasting memories during vacations in Aruba with his beloved wife Lois, and his love for the sport of bowling, a hobby he enjoyed with friends and family.
In addition to his role as a loving husband and father, Pete was a cherished friend to many. His kind and generous nature made him a confidant and source of support to those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Pete's memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of sharing in his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and enduring memories that will forever remind us of the extraordinary man he was.
Pete is survived by his cherished grandchildren: Anthony (Joe), Cindy, Bernadette, Dominick, Allison, Gabby, Hunter, Jonathan, Dillion, and Nathan, who brought immeasurable joy into his life.
A memorial service to celebrate Pete's life will be held on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Rd, Levittown PA 19057 from 10AM – 12PM. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and pay their respects. Interment is private under the direction of Galzerano Funeral Home.
Pete may no longer be with us in person, but his spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. May he rest in peace.
