Stephan L. Rovnyak, a dedicated educator who spent 30 years teaching Industrial Arts in the Bristol Township School District, has peacefully passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Kindred Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He touched the lives of numerous students during his teaching career and left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
 
Born on July 21, 1946, Somerset, PA, Stephan graduated from Somerset Area Jr - Sr High School in 1964. In 1971, he earned a degree in Industrial Arts from the California University of Pennsylvania, further cementing his passion for teaching and shaping young minds.
 
Aside from his illustrious career in education, Stephan proudly served as an Army Combat Medic from 1965 to 1967, completing a tour of duty in Vietnam. His dedication to serving his country mirrored his commitment to shaping future generations through his work as an educator.
 
Described as a kind and loving person by those who knew him best, Stephan's warmth and caring nature will be dearly missed by his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife Rita Ann Rovnyak (nee Mock), whose love was the cornerstone of his life for over 50 years. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Lee Ann Zablotney and husband George of Listre, PA and Jill Gray and her husband Jim of San Antonio, TX.  Stephan is preceded in death by his sister Leslie Ulerich and brother Mark Rovnyak.
 
In honor of Stephan's life and legacy, a Graveside Service will be held on 1 pm, Friday, July 26, 2024, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA. The service will be a chance for all who were touched by Stephan's kindness to come together and pay their respects to a remarkable man.
 
Stephan leaves behind cherished memories with his family and friends who were fortunate enough to have known him. He will forever be remembered for his dedication to education, service to his country, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
