Shirley Ann Heriegel

April 13, 1941 — May 9, 2020

Shirley Ann (nee Watson) Heriegel of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully at the age of 79 years, on May 9, 2020, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of 60 years to Harry Heriegel, Sr.  Devoted mother of Debbie Heriegel and Harry Heriegel, Jr. and his wife, Kim.  Loving grandmother of Robert Switz, Johnross Switz, his wife, Ashlie, and Joseph Switz, Kaylin Heriegel and Kenneth Heriegel.  Adoring great grandmother of Grayson, Abby and Robbie, Dear sister of Bobby Watson and his wife, Tina. and sister in law to Patricia (the late William Heriegel), Paul (Mary) Heriegel,  Marie "Sissy" Laurence, Lois Bartie, Dina (Lee) Vernitsky, Herbert (Linda) Heriegel, Joyce (the late Denny) Mikolowski and the late Rosie Baum.  Also survived by many niece and nephews.  Faithful companion of Midnight, her beloved cat, where they will meet at Rainbow bridge. Shirley was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to Taylor and Lydia Watson. The love of a family is life's greatest blessing. Shirley and Harry shared a lifelong friendship and marriage, one-month shy of 60 years.  Shirley cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved celebrating and cooking at the holidays or any family gathering. Shirley enjoyed the sound of country music, such artist as Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Kenny Rogers and Patsy Cline, just to name a few.  Her daily afternoon ritual consisted of watching the storyline of her favorite soap opera, General Hospital. Shopping was one of Shirley's past times as well as tending to her garden.  During her career, she worked for Bradlees Department Stores, Oxford Ave Cleaners and Northtec LLC. Shirley will be remembered as a caring, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and sister in law.  All services are private at this time due to the current pandemic situation.  Shirley will be buried with her parents in Woodlawn Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee
