Samuel “Sammy” Samsel aka Sam Bones was born on April 3, 1954 to Yolanda Foilosi – Dea and Francis Samsel passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Lower Bucks Hospital. He was 67.
Sam served his country when he was 18 years old stationed in Germany. He received a medal for being an expert in grenades and M15’s. After his service in the army he obtained a degree in small engine repair. He worked and retired from the Local Union 57. Sam coached little league baseball alongside his brother Frank and his nephews, and volunteered with the Croydon Yellow Jackets when his grandchildren played. He loved all sports, especially baseball and football and was an avid Philly sports fan. In his pastime you could find him on his couch watching WWII documentaries or Philadelphia sports programs.
Sam is survived by his children Christy Samsel and Ryan Samsel, grandchildren Army Specialist Giovan Streeter, Gianna Blount, AJ Blount, Taya Proffitt and Angelo AJ” Sgavvichio. His siblings Frank (Patricia) Dea, Patricia Dea-Moore, Nancy Reid, Michael (Kathy) Samsel and Rosemary Samsel. A host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He had a special bond with his nephew Johnny “Motion” Reid.
Family and friends are invited to gather Monday, May 3, 2021 from 9 – 10:30 am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol – Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please take a loved one to get vaccinated against Covid 19.
Keeping with CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks are mandated indoors and outdoors.
