Richard N. Russo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on June 20, 1930, in Trenton, NJ, Richard dedicated his life to his work and family, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Richard had a distinguished career with the US Steel Workers Union Local 4889, where he demonstrated tireless dedication and a strong work ethic. His commitment to his profession was paralleled only by his devotion to his family. He was a man who truly cherished the moments spent with loved ones, often fondly recalling family trips taken with his wife, Sally, with whom he shared 64 wonderful years.
In his leisure time, Richard found joy in many hobbies. He was particularly fond of making homemade wine, a craft he took great pride in. His love for the New York Yankees kept him engaged as a devoted fan through the years. However, it was the time he spent with his family that he treasured most, creating countless memories with them that will be cherished eternally.
Richard was predeceased by his dear wife, Sally, his daughter Carol Russo, his son Richard Russo, and daughter-in-law Susan Russo, along with his parents Michael and Anna Russo. Richard leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, greatly missed by his children Michael Russo, Veronica and Anne Marie Russo, his grandchildren Jeffrey, Deanna, Theresa, and Sarah, and his great-grandchildren Dylan and James. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews whose lives he touched.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol, PA, starting at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 10:30 AM. The interment will take place at Bristol Cemetery in Croydon, PA.
