Richard Cavanaugh

Richard F. Cavanaugh, a dedicated technology professional and cherished father, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the St. John Neumann Center for Rehab & Healthcare, surrounded by loved ones. Born on March 3, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, Richard was a devoted family man whose life was imbued with a commitment to his career and his loved ones.

He served in the Army where he was stationed in Germany, where he learned the language and started his passion for learning other languages. He loved music and dancing. He took pride in his intelligence, which he was able to start his own business in the computer industry before it was trendy .

Richard is proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eilleen Cavanaugh. daughter Katherine Cavanaugh and his grandson Jared Gene Reid, brothers Gene and Tom. He is survived by his children Dean Cavanaugh (Andrea), Scott Cavanaugh, Aaron Cavanaugh, and Dawn Cavanaugh (Kenneth), 8 grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Margret Pendino (Ray) and his brother Joseph (Marley) and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service honoring Richard will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Oakland Cemetery, Adams Ave & Ramona Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19124.
