Obituary

Pietro Puleo, Sr., 75, born on February 20, 1951, in Castelvetrano, Sicily, passed away on May 21, 2026, surrounded by his children.

Peter was a devoted husband, father, and Nonno whose greatest joy in life was his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Soglia. He leaves behind his loving children: Andre Puleo and his wife Geralyn, Giovanna Foster and her husband Gary, and Peter Puleo and his wife Liz. Nonno was a proud and loving grandfather to Andre and his wife Alysha, Breanna, Vincenzo, Sofia, Amelia, Luciana, and Caralina and great-grandfather to Andre and Audrina. His grandkids brought him immense pride and joy.

Peter was a talented custom cabinet maker by trade, a man who could build or fix just about anything with his hands. If something was broken, he not only had the right tool for the job, but also the patience to teach others how to fix it themselves. He took great pride in showing his children and grandchildren how things worked, believing that learning and independence were gifts worth passing down.

Peter found joy in life’s simple routines and everyday moments. He loved pasta, experimenting with new recipes, and making his daily trips to ShopRite with coupons always in hand. He had a passion for sports, especially European football Serie A, along with Philadelphia sports teams. A longtime listener and “never-time caller” to WIP Sports Radio, he rarely missed a game or sports discussion.

More than anything, Nonno cherished his family. He could always be found on the sidelines at his grandchildren’s sporting events and school functions. No matter how busy he was, he always had time to listen to their stories about school, their friends, or their day. He would drop everything to give them a ride, cook them a meal, spend time together, or simply be present when they needed him. His grandchildren will forever remember the countless hours spent watching Judge Judy, Jeopardy, Survivor, and soccer with him, along with his endless supply of Nonno jokes that never failed to make everyone laugh or roll their eyes.

Peter will be remembered as a kind, simple, funny, and hardworking man who made everyone around him feel welcomed and cared for. The lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely will live on through his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Services will be held privately by the family and under the care and direction of Galzerano Funeral Home
