Nicholas DiMattia III, 53, of Bristol Township, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol Township and raised in Lower Makefield, Nick graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1990 and attended Bucks County Community College.
For nearly 30 years, Nick worked in the IT field after managing several restaurants in the Philadelphia area.
Throughout his youth, he participated in a variety of sports including baseball, football, track & field and weightlifting. A favorite among his peers, Nick was voted as a Sports Night captain in his senior year at Pennsbury.
As a child and through his adulthood, Nick was a Philly sports fanatic who enjoyed watching the Phillies and Eagles and was also a Flyers season-ticket holder.
Nick also loved listening to hard rock music from his favorite bands such as Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Dio, Metallica and The Eagles. He enjoyed going to concerts, buying tickets for his brothers and anyone else who wanted to attend.
But his main passion was drag racing his 1979 Pontiac Firebird with an engine he built with his family. It was common to see him in the garage, restoring a number of other Pontiacs he owned over the years.
Most of all, he was a good-hearted soul who always put others before himself.
Nick is survived by his parents, Nicholas Jr. and Susan (Galka) DiMattia, of Lower Makefield; his brothers Mark (Jennifer) DiMattia, of Levittown, and Anthony (Dawn) DiMattia, of Lower Makefield; and longtime friend Andrea Forconi, of Lower Makefield. He also survived by his grandfather, Nicholas DiMattia, of Lower Makefield; his aunts Sharon DiMattia, of Lower Makefield, Lana DiMattia, of Fairless Hills, and Ruth Ann Saus, of Quakertown; cousin Jodie (Robert) Keating, of Sellersville, and many other cousins.
"Uncle Nicky" also had many nieces and nephews, including Joseph (Jenny), Christopher, Matthew, Isabella, Sophie Ann and Emily-Rose.
Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Mary Galka, and Elizabeth DiMattia; uncles, Gerald DiMattia, Walter Galka (Doris), Thomas Galka, and Ronald Saus; and aunt, Eleanor Womer (Urban).
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his beloved rescue dog, Chance.
