Myron J. Makaryk, born on September 30, 1950, in Munich, Germany, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol, PA, surrounded by his beloved family. He was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Myron lived in Levittown for most of his life. He graduated Bishop Egan Catholic High School in 1969 and went on to become a roofer with his father for over thirty years. He was an avid music lover. He enjoyed supporting all Philadelphia sports teams and often watched soccer matches from around the world. His immense pride for his Ukrainian heritage was a great aspect of his life. A parishioner of St Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bristol, Pa, Myron often supported his church and community.
Myron is survived by his loving wife, Joy A. Makaryk, and their children, Andrew Makaryk, Larissa Leary, along with her husband Frank, and Alex Makaryk, and his wife Kaitlin. Myron also leaves behind his treasured grandson, Everett, who brought immense joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Kateryna (Bozar) Makaryk, who instilled in him the values that would guide his life and shape his character.
A memorial service to honor Myron's life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol – Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA. The service will begin at 9:30 AM and conclude at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St Mary’s Ukrainian Cemetery, Jenkintown, PA.
