Meraldo Ocasio, born June 8, 1934, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Meraldo later moved to New York with his siblings before settling permanently in Philadelphia, where he made his home beginning in the 1970s. He was a devoted father and grandfather whose life was grounded in faith, family, and hard work.
Meraldo was known for his strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication to providing for those he loved. His values, generosity, and presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Hector Ocasio. He is survived by his wife Margarita Lopez, children, Marisol Ocasio, Nelson Ocasio, and Paola Ocasio Lopez, as well as his beloved grandchildren and extended family.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Saint Veronica Parish, located at 533 W. Tioga Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, followed by a Funeral Mass.
The family sincerely appreciates the love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
