Mary Rose Hemp

Mary Rose Hemp (nee DeFranco) of Bristol, PA passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was 87. 

Mary was born in Pierce, WV and moved to Bristol, PA in the early 1940’s.  Mary worked at 3M (Bristol Twp), Pomeroy’s and Kmart (Levittown, PA) where she retired.  She was a devoted and lifelong parishioner of St Ann Church.  Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. 

Mary is predeceased by her parents Donato and Maria Rose, her brothers Antonio, Fabio, and Pompeii DeFranco.  She will be sadly missed by her husband John of 63 years, her two daughters Rosemarie of Langhorne, PA, and Christine Keiser (Jeff) of Ocala, Florida. Brothers Michael DeFranco and his wife Jean, Joseph DeFranco and his wife Anna, sister-in-law Alice DeFranco, good friends Anna Grace and Carmella.  Many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Mia for the care provided to Mary and the friendship she developed with her family over the last few years.

Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday, April 6, 2022, evening from 6 – 8 pm and Thursday morning, April 7, 8:30 – 9:30 am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol – Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057.  Funeral service will begin at 9:30 am.  Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Chandler Hall’s Hospice Program in memory of Mary, Chandler Hall, Philanthropy Office, 99 Barclay Street, Newtown, PA 18940.
