Louis Oblea Sr. of Philadelphia passed away and was reunited with the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Michele, on Wednesday, November 3, at the age of 71. Lou will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, caring grandfather, and a true patriot who loved his country. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from October 17, 1968, until October 16, 1974. He spent four of those years in Vietnam as a Navy Corpsman taking care of wounded soldiers. In his time of service, he received the National Defense Service Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal with one star. He loved to spend time with his family and especially enjoyed watching the Eagles with his sons. He was quick witted and always spoke his mind. His sense of humor could not be matched. He had a joke for every circumstance and always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his wife, Michele Oblea. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Louis and Cathy Oblea, his son and daughter in law, James and Maureen Oblea, his son and daughter in law, Daniel and Melissa Oblea, his daughter and son in law, Michele and Isaac Cruz- along with his grandchildren- Ethan, Christopher, Abigail, Hayden, Angie, Luke, and Gabe. Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from 10:30-11:30 at Saint Christopher’s Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116. Mass will start at 11:30. The burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
