Loren L. Fanini, aged 71, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on March 25, 1954, in Bristol, Pennsylvania, Loren was a dedicated member of his community and a hardworking individual who made a significant impact in the construction industry, for the last 15 years with Barnett Builders, and before that with his childhood friend Jack Taminini.
Loren's life was characterized by his unwavering commitment to his family and the relationships he built over the years. In a life where he didn’t have much to give, he gave everything he had and more. You never wondered where you stood with Loren; he was a friend to everyone and loyal almost to a fault. If he loved you, he took care of you. There is not a person he met in life who doesn’t fondly have a story to tell involving Loren.
When he wasn’t working, Loren loved nothing more than to drink a cold Miller Lite while fishing. Countless end-of-summer days were spent on Long Beach Island and on the Delaware River. For most of his life, winters involved hunting in the Poconos. Loren also loved sports - rooting for the Indianapolis Colts, the Boston Celtics, and Cincinnati Reds were some of his favorites - and he never missed a Kentucky Derby, a Preakness Stakes, or a Belmont Stakes.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Melonie Hannon, who he shared many years and a beautiful life with. He will also be deeply missed by his children, Michele Mitchell (Todd), Jamie Stein (Jason), Eddie Hannon (Kim), Ryan Hannon (Missy), Mandy Koleski (Josh) and John Koleski, of whom he was endlessly proud. One of his greatest joys in life were his grandchildren—Brittany, Jeremy, Nathan, Jacob, Mia, Maddy, Conor, Zion, James, and Chris. Loren was also blessed with great-grandchildren - Jaelyn, Mila, and Marco, who brought him so much happiness in his later years. His absence will also be deeply felt by his pup, Tilly.
In addition to his immediate family, Loren is remembered fondly by his siblings: brother Robin (Teresa), sister Bonnie (Robert), and brother Richard (Janice). The bonds forged among family members were a source of strength and unity throughout his life. He will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were more like family to him, none more-so than at the Borough Pub in Bristol.
Loren is predeceased by his parents Gene and Alberta (nee Dymond) Fanini, sister Valerie Lynch, brother Gary Engleman, and his beloved dogs Brynn and Dewey. His family is confident he is with them all again.
Family and friends are invited to gather in his honor during the visitation on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, Pennsylvania. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, providing a space for those who loved Loren to share in remembrance and celebrate his life.
Loren leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion. His presence will be deeply missed, and his spirit will forever remain in the memories of those who knew him.
