Jose Guillermo Chetrancolo Martinez was born on May 2, 1954, to Guillermo Chetrancolo and Carmen Martinez, in Ponce Puerto Rico. He spent the first 10 years of his life in his beloved Island before the family moved to New York City and finally settled in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

After attending New Brunswick High School, Jose went to work for a private trucking company, and for the last 20 years, worked with City of New Brunswick as a Housing Inspector, and most recently as a public school security guard where he touched parents, students, and teachers with his kindness, care and benevolence.

In his community, as well as within the surrounding latino communities, Jose was known for his love for music and his musical ability. He became a gifted latin percussionist playing for 5 bands as well as being an active member of his church’s praise group.

Jose’s greatest joy was being a husband, father, and grandfather. His love for his family was unwavering and commendable and his commitment to his friends consistent. He was proud of his children, cherished his grandchildren immensely, and enjoyed the family gatherings that included his siblings and the many nephews and nieces who he loved. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his disarming smile, and his devotion to the family.

Jose was preceded in death by his first son, Jose Felipe, and is survived by his sister Marilyn Arent, his brother Waldemar, his beloved wife, Beth, and his children: Marilyn (Jose), Misael, Aneudi (Margarita), Jonathan (Hass), Venessa, Julian (Adela), Barry, Andrew, and Ariyah, and 18 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation at Galzerano Funeral Home - Levittown, located at 3500 Bristol - Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057.
