John S. Pawelko, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. Born on June 28, 1937, in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, John lived a life marked by dedication to work and family. He was a faithful employee of US Steel at Fairless works. He leaves behind a legacy of loyalty and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew him.
He was born to his parents, John and Francis Pawelko (nee Kasper). His brother, Joseph Pawelko, predeceased him. His late wife, Mary P. Pawelko (nee Doto), shared 40 years of companionship and love with John, a union that remained a significant part of his life story.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Carmella Evans (nee Brown) and her husband Doug, who reside in Newark, Delaware. John's family was further blessed with his granddaughter, Rose, and his great-grandson, Roman, who provided him with immeasurable joy and pride.
Family and friends are invited to honor John’s memory Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, at the Galzerano Funeral Home in Levittown, Pennsylvania, located at 3500 Bristol - Oxford Valley Road. The viewing will take place at 10:00 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St Mark Cemetery.
John’s life was a testament to the values of loyalty and love. While he will be missed by family and friends, the memories of his gentle spirit and simple living will offer comfort and peace for those who loved him.
