Joan E Haynes

Joan Evelyn Haynes, née Neyhart, (also known as Ninny) of Levittown, PA passed away on December 10, 2023, at St. Mary Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was 84.

Born and raised in Upper Darby, Philadelphia, Joan was an artist at heart with passions for drawing, painting, storytelling, and gardening. Her passion for art led her to become a cartographer, during which time she met the love of her life, Elwood. With him, she raised a family in Levittown, Pennsylvania. She later moved to Madison, Virginia, where she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, pets, and anyone who visited her home, before ultimately returning to Levittown. She treated everyone like family, could make friends anywhere, and loved all living things. She was a beautiful, kind person with the biggest heart and the brightest smile.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Sylvia Neyhart. She is survived by her siblings, Harry Neyhart (Marie) and Betty Ford. Joan will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Elwood, of 58 years; her children, James M. Cullen and his wife, Jacqueline; E. Robert Haynes, Jr. and his wife, Susan; and Christopher J Haynes, Sr. and his wife, Kathy; her grandchildren, James (Rachel), Emily (Chad), Christopher, Lauren (Tommy), Connor (Courtney), Benjamin (Melissa), Robert (Elizabeth), Sam, Katie (J.R.); and her great grandchild, Tyson.

Family and friends are invited to gather Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 1–2:30 pm at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol – Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057. Funeral service will begin at 2:30 pm.  Interment will be held privately under the direction of Galzerano Funeral Home.
