Jeffrey L. Fisher, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and community leader, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on August 15, 1955, in Bristol, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey's life was marked by profound contributions to his family and community.
Jeffrey graduated from Bristol High School in 1973 and went on to earn a degree in English, Theater, and Dance from Princeton University in 1981. His extensive career saw him teaching at Hun School and Bristol High School, sharing his passion for education with countless students. He later contributed his talents to Rohm & Haas and PHH/Cendent Mortgage Company. Perhaps most notably, he served as the Executive Director of the Bristol Borough Community Action Group Food Pantry, embodying his commitment to service and compassion within the community.
A long-distance runner from the young age of 17, Jeffrey was also known for his artistic talents. He played various musical instruments including the trumpet, guitar, trombone, and baritone horn. As a singer and songwriter under the name Jason Chance, he shared his love of music and faith with those around him, preaching and singing to anyone he met. His active participation in the Bethel AME Church in Bristol exemplified his dedication to his faith and community.
Jeffrey is survived by his beloved wife, Pastor Helen Fisher, along with his daughters, Dorothy (Radice) Haynes, Stephanie (Nochton) Withers (Dan), Erica (Nochton) Bosserman (Robert), Dixie (Aycock-Fisher) Wieland (Michael), and Dorian Fisher (Kevin Smalls). He was also a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 9 great-grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind his in-laws, Eduardo and Dorothy (McLaughlin) Ortez, as well as many other cousins, family members, and friends who will greatly miss his spirit and kindness.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Doris (Bolton) Fisher, and his brother, Reverend John Fisher.
The community will gather to celebrate Jeffrey's life at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, located at 260 Wood St, Bristol, PA. A viewing will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Bristol Cemetery.
As his legacy endures, Jeffrey L. Fisher will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his vibrant community engagement, and his joyful spirit that touched all who knew him.
