James Donald Parks, Sr., a cherished member of his community and devoted family man, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on May 22, 1939, in Newnan, Georgia, James lived a life rich in love, dedication, and service.
A graduate of Newnan High School, James went on to build a successful career in the packaging industry. He began his professional journey as a Supervisor at Mead Packaging in Atlanta, Georgia, before transferring to Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, where he served as a production manager. Following his tenure at Mead, he retired from Tavo Packaging, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.
James was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Linda Parks (nee Pierce), who stood by his side through life's many paths. Together, they raised two children, Denise Deon (Mark) and James D. Parks, Jr., who continue to carry forward his values of family and dedication. James delighted in the company of his grandchildren, Angela (Jesse) and Sarah (fiancé Kyle), providing them with wisdom and a sense of humor that will be dearly missed.
In addition to his immediate family, James shared a deep bond with his siblings and in-laws, and his legacy will be further cherished by many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as a loving son of his late parents, Annie and James W. Parks, and as a caring brother to Edwin Parks, Dottie Bridges (John), Kenneth Parks (Frances), John Parks, Ronnie Parks, and Gloria Parks Smith, all of whom have preceded him in death.
Beyond his professional accomplishments and family commitments, James had a passion for sports. He enjoyed playing golf and was known for his love of softball, often playing on the company team with great enthusiasm. These hobbies brought him immense joy and allowed him to forge lasting friendships throughout his life.
A memorial gathering in honor of James Donald Parks, Sr. will take place on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol – Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Prayer service will begin at 11 am. Interment is private and managed with care under the direction of Galzerano Funeral Home.
James leaves behind a remarkable legacy, defined by his unwavering love for his family and friends, and a life well-lived. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
