Irene M. Gambino, who passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, at Oxford Care Center and Rehab in Langhorne, PA at the age of 97.
Born on June 10, 1929, in Pietrafitta Italy, Irene later immigrated to the United States in 1948 and made her home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. She was employed in the garment industry, working in quality control, where her dedication, attention to detail, and strong work ethic earned the respect of those who knew her. Although she only had an elementary school education, Irene's greatest lessons came through the life she lived, one marked by courage, perseverance, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones.
Above all else, Irene cherished her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest happiness came from spending time with those she loved. Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and quiet strength will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her beloved children, Salvatore Gambino (Maryfrances) and Sandra Gallelli (Peter); her cherished grandchildren, Philip (Lauren), Jonathan (Sahar), Louis (Nicole), Nina (Nicholas), and Julia (Andrew); and her many adored great-grandchildren Gabriella, Maya, Roya, Rumi, Victoria, Theodore, and Celine who were a constant source of pride and joy.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Rd Newtown Pa 18940 where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of her name to St Jude Shrine in Baltimore, MD via St Jude Shrine
Though Irene's presence will be deeply missed, the love she shared, the values she instilled, and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
