George Rodney "Rod" Carleton of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born on March 30, 1946, Rod was the beloved son of the late George "Buster" Carleton and Dora Salvati Carleton. A proud graduate of Bristol Borough High School's Class of 1964, Rod went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army from 1966 until 1969.
Following his military service, Rod dedicated his life to his craft as a skilled carpenter. Known for his exceptional workmanship and strong work ethic, he took great pride in his trade and even built his own home from the ground up, a testament to his talent and determination.
Rod had a lifelong passion for motorcycles, particularly Triumph and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed collecting motorcycles and parts, spending countless hours in his garage restoring and building them. His love for motorcycles was only surpassed by his love for family, friends, and the many memories he shared with them throughout his life.
Known for his larger-than-life personality, quick wit, and unforgettable sense of humor, Rod never met a stranger. He was a loyal friend whose stories and adventures became legendary among those who knew him. It was often said that whenever someone spoke of Rod, it began with a memorable story and ended with a smile.
Rod will be remembered for his kindness, craftsmanship, humor, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will be treasured always.
Rod is survived by his loving son, Christopher Carleton and his wife, Kim; his cherished grandson, Christopher Carleton, who proudly serves in the United States Navy; his sisters, Linda Salerno and her husband, Nick, and Doreen Ashby; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him dearly.
