Francis Vogt, of Bensalem, PA, passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2026, surrounded
by his loving family at the age of 65.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 24, 1960, Fran grew up in Trevose PA and attended Bensalem High School class of 1978. He was a truck driver and a proud Teamster member out of Local 628. He retired from US Foods (formerly Alliant Foodservice, formerly Kraft Foods) after 35 years of dedicated service.
Fran was always full of life and an abundance of energy. Never one to sit still, he was always entrenched into one of his many hobbies or activities. He loved boating and was a member for many years at the Bristol Yacht Club and the Neshaminy Harbor Yacht Club. He spent every summer weekend hanging with his boating family on the Delaware river. He enjoyed his Harvey Davidson motorcycle and riding dirt bikes with his sons. He spent many weekends tinkering in the backyard on his many projects and was the go to Mr. Fix-it aka Fran MacGyver. Between his gardening and cooking Fran was a master chef. He could recreate any recipe and made many of his own. He loved saltwater fishing trips and his yearly charter trips to catch stripers up the Hudson with all his friends, nephews and sons.
He loved traveling, which included RV-ing to Florida and Maine. The yearly Morrison family vacations to Cape May NJ. He enjoyed cruising down to the Chesapeake Bay and eating crabs. He worked hard to play hard. He had the gift of gab and could make friends anywhere. Fran loved life, people and just having a good time.
Fran was a one of a kind character. Outspoken, hard-headed, a story teller with a keen memory for detail. Smart as a whip, he was ridiculously funny without even meaning to be. If you needed a friend, Fran was there. If you needed someone to tell you the truth, he would give you the facts whether you liked it or not. He was someone you always wanted in your corner and was a true friend to a lot of different people.
Above all though, Fran was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He was a fur grandpop to Otis, his 120 pound chocolate lab best buddy who he spent every day with.
He cherished the time spent with his family and will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and unwavering love for those closest to him. He will be missed sorely by his beloved wife of 38 years who was his partner in crime and best friend.
Francis was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Vogt; his parents, Edward Vogt
(Cecelia Lagocka); and his brother, Larry Vogt. He is survived by his wife, Karen Vogt; his daughter, Julie Vogt(Ryan); and his son, Andrew Vogt. He is also survived by his sister, Shelia Graf(Bill); his sister-in-law, Donna Vogt; his brother, Edward Vogt(Wendy); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Charis Hospice and the University Of Pennsylvania Hospital for the excellent care he received. A special thanks to Lindsey Dougherty MP who shared a special bond with Fran and was a blessing to our family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing, May 15th, 2026, from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at Assumption BMV Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Rd., Feasterville-Trevose, PA 19053. His Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made in his name to Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
