Ernest (Ernie) D Prosperi, 79, passed away on June 4 th , 2026 at St Mary's Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria (Kuklis). He was the son of the late Duilio and Enis (Simonini) Prosperi. He is survived by his sons Nicholas (Dee) and David (Laura). He was a loving Pop Pop to Gianna, Sophie, Bella, Evan and Emma and an Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was also the loving younger brother to his only sibling, his sister Joanne. Family meant everything to him, and he made sure to pass that passion on to his children.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, he attended and graduated from North Catholic high school before serving his country for 4 years in the Navy. He utilized the GI bill to attend La Salle University where he attained his bachelor's degree before moving on to his career in shipping/logistics. His career took him all over the world allowing him to fulfill his love of traveling and experiencing other cultures. He was able to bring his family with him to Asia where they lived in Hong Kong and Japan over the course of 10 years before returning to the States. His travels made such an impact on him and his family, that they reminisce about those times whenever they are together.

His passion for music was unrivaled. He played the keyboard/piano in different bands over the course of decades. He was so proud of the music he made with his bandmates as well as the many compositions he put together in his basement music studio in Fairless Hills. He would often boast about his creations to anybody who would listen to them (usually his sons). He was one the best musicians to come out of Philly, and that's a fact, not an opinion.

Ernie was a very devoted college basketball fan, as that was the sport he grew up playing in Philly. He was a hardcore Nova fan and loved following some of the Nova players as they moved on to the NBA, specifically the Nova Knicks as he would call them. We're sure he was smiling from above as the Nova Knicks won the title. (This was a one off, as he grew up a diehard Philadelphia sports fan).Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 8:00-9:30 AM at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, PA 19057. Interment will be held privately in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Peter Frampton Myositis Research Fund (Support the Johns Hopkins Myositis Center ' Johns Hopkins Secure eCommerce), which helps to find a cure for the terrible disease that Ernie suffered from.
