Edwin Torruellas

Edwin Torruellas, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. Born on January 11, 1951, in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, Edwin lived a life marked by devotion to his family and friends. He departed this world surrounded by loved ones, a testament to the profound connections he nurtured throughout his 75 years.

Edwin’s passing is mourned deeply by his devoted wife of 47 years, Ada Miriam Torruellas, who stood steadfastly by his side through all of life’s moments. Together, they shared a rich family life that expanded to embrace a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Edwin is survived by his four daughters: Annabel Johnson (Matthew), Julie Torruellas Garcia (Julio), Elizabeth Becketts (Steve), and Ginny Gonzalez (Nelson). He was a proud grandfather to Jessica King; Sammy (and Kasey) Padilla; Karyssa (and Renaldo) Rodriguez; Natalya (and Rob) Graham; Juan (and Nikki); Isaiah; Victoria; Annalyse; Daniel; Natasha; Brandon (and Jossie); Paris (and Antwon); and Evan (and Sierra). His loving spirit extended even further to his cherished great-grandchildren: Juelz, Trinity, Ha’Niya, Ha’Zihr, Amari, Sofia, Raeya, Suhaylah, Micah, Lana, Amelia, Carter, Noah, and Chase. Each generation knew him as a source of love, guidance, and immeasurable support.

Edwin’s family circle also included his brothers and sisters: Jorge, Rubin, and Carmen (known affectionately as Yiya), along with Edwin, Abner, Carlos, Gaddiel, Carmen, Abigail, Ruthy, and Linda. His extended family, encompassing numerous other siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all carry forward his legacy of familial love and unity.

He was predeceased by his parents, Vincenta Velasquez and Edwin Torruellas, Sr., whose memories he honored throughout his life.

A viewing to celebrate Edwin’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Galzerano Funeral Home in Levittown, Pennsylvania, located at 3500 Bristol - Oxford Valley Road, 19057. Funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Edwin’s journey was one of enduring dedication and love. His memory will remain an enduring blessing to all who knew him, a beacon of warmth, strength, and unwavering commitment to family. Those who had the privilege to know Edwin will forever cherish his kindness and the profound impact he made on their lives.
