Edward M. Novak passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at St. Mary’s hospital. He was 89.
Ed was born and raised in Nanticoke, PA. He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was a graduate of both Bloomsburg University and Temple University. After marrying the love of his life, Sylvia, they moved to Levittown where they resided for the past 63 years.
Edward was a beloved teacher and principal in the Willingboro, NJ school district for 38 years. He was also an active member of the community as a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4215, 4th degree and serving as an usher at Queen of the Universe Church.
He was caring and strong, proud of his daughter, and especially proud of his beloved grandchildren. Ed loved to share in good conversation and laughter and touched many lives as a good and honest friend. He will be sorely missed by his family and his many friends. But we will also celebrate many happy years that we had with him and cherish those joyful memories always.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sylvia, daughter, Daryl Goodrow and husband Brian, his grandchildren Ryan Goodrow and Alexa Goodrow, his niece, Sharon Hinds and husband Rodney, and brother-in-law Mark Cecelski and wife Irene.
A visitation service will be held at Queen of the Universe Church in Levittown, PA on Monday, July 18 at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. He will be interred at 11:30 a.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Washington Crossing, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation to your favorite charity be made in Ed’s name.
