Dushyant Harivadanbhai Desai, 75, of Newtown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in the early hours of April 1, 2026. He is survived by his beloved wife, Premila, his children Jay (Jilna Raichura Desai), Dr. Raj (Ali Johnson Desai) and Laxmi. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Kalpana Patel Desai.
Dushyant was many things to many people, but in all ways and to all people, he was unfailingly kind, patient and possessed a quiet strength that was a source of comfort and support for all who knew him. As his family and loved ones learn to navigate a world without him, we celebrate a life well-lived.
Born March 9, 1951, Dushyant was the second child and only son of Harivadanbhai and Urmilabhen Desai, of Nadiad, India. He immigrated to the US as a young man and spent his entire adult life living in and around the Philadelphia area (Go Birds!). He was a civic leader in the Gujarati community who never turned down a game of cards or Rummikub or a chance to BBQ. He was a successful entrepreneur, loved good food and good company.
Those who knew him are encouraged to remember him as his family remembers him-a quiet (but at times silly) man, sitting in his favorite spot on the couch in the loving and warm home he built with his family. His last thoughts were of his wife and children, who will miss him tremendously. To honor Dushyant, the family asks for your prayers for the Eagles and the Indian national cricket team, to never pass up an opportunity to BBQ or try a new food and above all else, live. He will be missed but never forgotten.
