Dolores Latibo Lloyd

September 18, 1942 — July 18, 2025

Feasterville Trevose

Dolores Latibo Lloyd, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away surrounded by her loving daughters on Friday, July 18th, 2025. During her brief battle with liver cancer, Dolores lived her faith in Christ and showed unnatural strength, courage, and bravery until the very end, inspiring all that supported her.

She was born in Leyte, Philippines, in 1942 to Pedro and Sotera Latibo. She had a beautiful childhood surrounded by her parents, four younger siblings, and a host of family and friends. Her faith in God and deep devotion to Catholicism were founded by her dear mother and were an unwavering pillar throughout her life. In the Philippines, she was educated in the local Catholic schools and attended university. After marrying her husband, James Lloyd, in 1980, she moved to the United States and eventually became a citizen. While loving her new country, she often longed for the warmth and joy of her native homeland and traveled back frequently.

Dolores was an extremely devoted mother to Katherine Diaz and Julia Mitchell, who were significant sources of pride and joy. Having children was her greatest wish, and she was deeply committed to them and instilled in them faith in the Lord. Dolores sought to give her children the best life and experiences she could, whether resources were plentiful or sparse. In addition to being a passionate mother, she was a truly remarkable chef and gardener. Her culinary talents ranged from traditional Filipino dishes, American soul food, and several other global cuisines. Despite her exceptional ability in the kitchen, creating extraordinary beauty with her flowers and plants was her greatest recreational love, a true respite in her day. The stunning display that was her home garden delighted her cherished neighbors of Concord Park and forged lifelong friendships.

Dolores is preceded in death by her father, Pedro Latibo; her mother, Sortera Latibo; brothers Dionisio (Junnie) Latibo and Lucio Latibo; and sisters Catalina Latibo and Allyn Dionzon. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James Lloyd; daughter Katherine Diaz and son-in-law Robert Diaz; daughter Julia Mitchell and son-in-law, Essex Mitchell, grandchildren Genevieve (10), Evangeline (7), and Essex (4); stepdaughter, Eugenia Davis; grandson, Julian Davis; granddaughter, Sara James-Charnes and her husband, Michael Charnes; granddaughter, Illysa Davis; great-granddaughters Sanaa and Siani Davis; stepson James Lloyd, Jr.; her brother-in-law, Virgilio Dionzon; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends throughout the world, who will never forget the love and light she brought to all who knew her.
