Cheryl Robbins van Lierop age 83, departed this earthly life surrounded by family on August 22, 2026. She was the eldest daughter of four children of the late Charles and Doris (nee, Baldwin) Robbins. She was preceded in death by her two younger brothers, Charles Robbins and LeRoy Robbins.

She received a BA (Christian Education) in 1965 from Maryville College (Maryville, TN) where she sang with the choir and was involved in various student activities, and then received her Master's in Christian Education from Princeton Theological Seminary where she met and married Peter Creswell van Lierop in 1966.

Her life revolved around children whether it was her own children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her students or the little ones at First Presbyterian Church of Levittown Childcare and School. Her teaching career spanned for close to 55 years in New Jersey, Long Island New York and Pennsylvania from 4th grade, 2nd and first grade and finally kindergarten. Wherever they lived, church was their second home. Singing in the choir was a lifelong hobby both Pete and Cheryl enjoyed together. At her final church, First Presbyterian Church of Levittown, she sang in the Chancel Choir, rang with the Bell Choir and signed with the Sign Choir, she also served as an Elder and Deacon, and was eventually the Director of the Daycare and School.

She is survived by her children: Heather Towne (Dave) and Matthew van Lierop (Shannon), her sister Darlene Hamilton (Harry), a brother-in-law Ben van Lierop (Chris), and 4 sisters-in-law Elly Austin (Alan), Marti Valasek (Mike), Rachel Robbins and MerryBeth (Kevin) Farrell.
