Barbara A. (Brown) Martinelli, 76, of Bensalem passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 5, 2019. Barbara was born in Philadelphia and has been a Bensalem resident for almost 50 years. She was blessed to spend her life doing what she loved best, caring for her children, grandchildren, and most recently her great-grandson. Barbara was always ready with snacks or a hot meal for her visitors (always with a healthy dose of butter of course). She made sure to save everything she thought might be useful later (from fruit cups to pantyhose) and found innovative ways to repurpose them. During her family trips to Ocean City, she loved sitting on the balcony into the early morning hours having her coffee, French fries, and donuts. Everyone who had the pleasure to speak to her knew how much she loved to talk, no matter how much her family teased her about it.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her loving family. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael J. Martinelli Sr., her devoted children; daughter Nicole M. McAndrews (Christopher), and son Michael J. Martinelli Jr. (Gina). She was proud Mimi to Katie L. Mourer (Gregory), Julie N. McAndrews, Christian W. McAndrews, Joshua T. Emery Sr., Joshua T. Emery Jr., and the many others who she treated as her own grandchildren. She was full of pride to be great-grandmother to Luke P. Mourer whom she cherished. She leaves behind her beloved younger brother John. R. Brown Jr. (Janet), nephew John R. Brown III (Laura), and niece Leslye A. Stefanowski (Rob). She is preceded in death by her parents John R. Brown Sr. and Kathryn I. Brown.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation Thursday October 17, 2019 from 10 to 11AM at St. Ephrem Catholic Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020 followed by mass at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
