Obituary

Anthony Michael "Buddy" Ostapowicz passed away peacefully and with grace on July 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Known affectionately as "Buddy O," he leaves behind an extraordinary legacy as one of Bucks County's most respected and beloved drum instructors. While he was an exceptional musician and teacher, those who knew him best understood that his greatest gift was his compassion. To the countless students whose lives he touched, Buddy was far more than an instructor he was a mentor, encourager, and friend.

Even during his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Buddy's devotion to his students never faded. In the final weeks of his life, students came one by one, and often in groups, to visit him and express their gratitude. He welcomed each with the same warm smile and genuine kindness that had defined his life. In the later years of his career, Buddy found special joy teaching children with Autism and Down syndrome, embracing each lesson with patience, love, and an open heart.

Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, Buddy led several well-known bands that earned critical acclaim and developed a loyal following throughout the local club circuit. When he wasn't performing, he could be found in his studio beside his home, where the steady sound of drums became the soundtrack to generations of aspiring musicians.

To his only son, Steven, those rhythms became something even more meaningful. The beats that filled their home throughout his childhood became the heartbeat of a father whose love, guidance, and passion will remain with him forever.

Buddy is survived by his beloved wife, Ann; his devoted son, Steven; his sisters, Marianne Seimetkowski and Rita Raudenbush; and his younger brother, Martin. He also leaves behind countless former students, fellow musicians, and friends whose lives are richer because of his generosity, encouragement, and unwavering belief in others.

Buddy's spirit, his music, and the lessons he shared will continue to echo through every student who sits behind a drum set “Counting out the time”

Memorial service details will be announced later. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Galzerano Funeral Home.
