Alan “Scott” Schaffer age 58 of Levittown, PA passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 22, 2022, at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Donna Schaffer and his daughter Virginia Schaffer. He is survived by his wife Lisa Schaffer of 31 years, 2 daughters Cyndel and Samantha Schaffer, 4 grandchildren JaidaLynn, Jason, Cristian, and Eva, as well as sister Kelly Glovacz and brother Brian Schaffer.
A veteran of the US Army serving in Fort Campbell, KY and Mannheim, Germany as a hand grenade specialist, EMT for American Health Medical Transport and has been as a volunteer firefighter at Levittown Fire Company # 2 since 2003 where he held the positions of Captain, Assistant Chief, President, and life member.
Scott was a devoted family man and dedicated to the brotherhood and his community. It didn’t matter who called or what time it was; he was there. He took being a first responder just as serious as he did his paid job; he always wanted to learn more and do better for the sake of helping others. He was the life of any party he walked into. An avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Flyers, and NASCAR.
Scott will sorely be missed by family, extended family, friends, and his brothers at the firehouse.
Family and friends are invited to gather Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 8 – 10:30 am at the Levittown Fire Co #2 Station 13, 6 County Way, Levittown, PA 19055. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will be held at a later date at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
